New Years Skin Resolutions

Yep, its that time of year again... the time of year where i seem to hemorrhage money on gimmicky skin care products in an attempt to 'miraculously' look better, or feel better about myself! lol

My latest 'issue' that I seem to have developed with myself is skin tone. I have looked too long and too hard in the mirror and have decided that my skin tone is uneven and now i must do something about it!!

So after contemplating what to do about this new found problem I managed to drag my bum down to House of Fraser in Birmingham where I was greeted by several keen and helpful assistants in their beauty hall.

This was the result:
I've been using this system for a week now and although my skin is very smooth (courtesy of the modern friction) I cannot say that I have particularly noticed any difference. (of course in beauty regime time a week is nothing!)
I guess only time will tell!

My Favourite Lipstick!

YSL's Rouge Volupte lipstick (in no 20 - spicy pink) is possibly the best lipstick I have ever used! It is extremely pigmented so a tiny amount goes a long way (which is probably a plus considering the price!).

I was, and still am, very impressed with this product. Not many of the lipsticks that i have previously used have lasted all morning (even with the amount of tea I drink! lol) and actually left my lips feeling softer and more moisturised after I'd worn it than before (no joke!).

I should point out, however, that this particular shade is the only one of interest to me at the moment in the current collection and that for £20 it is rather pricey!

Happy 'Fake' Birthday to me!!!

Tomorrow is officially my 'fake' birthday. Hopefully this one will be better than the real one last weekend that was a complete disaster.

Why? you ask....because I was still jet lagged and then when I actually felt a bit better I ended up in a hospital waiting room for 3 hours with my sister so that she could see a doctor! (seem to have a thing about hospitals at the mo!)

Its a good job that I don't place much stock in birthdays as I've yet to have one that I can honestly say was amazing!!

It wasn't a complete right off though and hopefully this 'fake' one tomorrow will be much more enjoyable. (This time around it comes with Cake!)

Thought that i would, however, share one of the few positives to emerge from my actual birthday....yep, you guessed it....the presents!!!!!!!

My sister treated my to this beautiful little Radley bag (see pic) which is soooo cute that i am ashamed to confess that I did omit a squeal of delight when i opened it!

Another present of note was the Wii Resorts game i received from my wonderful parents....i suspect that this will lead to many hours of me getting my bum kicked by my sister and her very competitive beloved!

Snow days

Looks like the cold weather is here to stay for a while.

I was fortunate enough to be able to take the dog for a long walk across the Chase and i have to say it really is beautiful when its covered in snow. (could do with the roads being less treacherous though!)
This kind of weather always has me at odds with myself. The eternal kid in me just wants to go and play in it, have fun etc and the rest of me just wants it to hurry up and go away so we can return to some semblance of normalcy!! lol

Christmas and New Year

I was lucky enough to be able to go away for Christmas and New Year again this year.

Hurghada was our destination of choice and i have to say it was paradise on earth.

The weather was wonderful and the resort was absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend it!!

I think i preferred hurghada to sharm, but that may just have been to do with the resort?

Went a little crazy in Duty Free but if you can't treat yourself on Christmas day when can you?!! lol.
