Armani Eyes to Kill mascara

Recently I caved in and finally brought the Armani 'Eyes to Kill' mascara. (Well I did have a 10% off voucher for Selfridges, so why not?)
This was probably the one of the first mistakes I have made (make-up wise) for a while.
The mascara is good but I found myself very disappointed with the results.
Drawn in by sleek packaging and the promise of doll-like lashes I was brought back to reality with a bump.
The reality (in my experience) is that this product is massively over hyped.
In the future I will be sticking with my trusty Dior Diorshow!

Disobedient, annoying skin!

So for the majorityof my life I have suffered with oily combination skin that was prone to break outs and now I'm being told it is dry and sensitive?

How is this possible?!

I know it is true (although I must admit I thought that the overly made up lady at the makeup counter was having me on) as the new moisturiser I have purchased seems to be working wonders.

This new moisturiser, Lancome's Hydra Zen Neurocalm .......is one I wouldn't have dreamed of using on my previous skin type.

My 'mini review'

Positives:
Smells wonderful.
Leaves skin feeling smooth and hydrated.
Negatives:
Packaging - although it is cute, my personal preference will always be for moisturisers with pump dispensers as I feel this is a bit more hygienic.

Jack Wills

I was pleased to find that Selfridges in Birmingham have opened a Jack Wills concession (even if it is a small one!)
My love for this brand started during the summer when I was fortunate enough to visit the quaint little town of Salcombe, Devon.
It was on my excursion through the little high street that I stumbled across the brand with the famous pheasant logo.
All though I am now pretty much addicted to this shop (and will probably be purchasing a few Christmas gifts from here in the near future) I was a little upset to realise that the products I have purchased so far are not quite as 'British' as the slogan 'fabulously British' would have you believe!!

A little self indulgent haul before Christmas!

It has been a while since I have brought any make-up products or clothes (been watching my pennies) but this week during my 'stay-cation' I went a little crazy!

Making the most of my last few holiday days this year , I have managed to combine days out with some retail therapy.........this was the result!

Mac's Paint Pot in 'Morning Frost' and 219 brush, Bobbi Bown Long wear gel eyeliner in 'Denim Ink'

Mac Beauty Powder in 'Snowglobe'

Jack Wills Gillet

Hollister 'Fallbrook' shirt

New Look blouse

Last but not least.............. Dress from George

Recent travels

With the rapid approach of the end of this year and the threat of loosing my annual vacation days, I decided to do a bit of a 'stay-cation' and visit the places I had been talking about visiting all year.

It turned out to be a very eclectic 5 days off work with visits to Oxford, Bicester, Blenheim Palace, Birmingham and even a short stay at a local spa!

Has anyone else done a stay-cation this year?

Race for Life 2011

Can't believe it is a week today since I took part in Cancer Researches Race For Life.

Still amazed that it turned out to be such a fun day. The sun was shining, there was pink as far as the eye could see and everyone was generally in high spirits.

Only downside...learning that my sister has now over taken me in the fitness stakes...guess there is always next year!
